Transforming the on-campus visit with immersive storytelling and smart CMS tools

A group of people seated in a modern lecture room at Indiana University watch a large digital crossword display with the word "ENIGMATOLOGY" highlighted across the screen. A vertical digital pillar also displays part of the crossword. The IU trident logo is visible on the wall, and a speaker stands at the front right of the room.

Project Overview

Transforming First Impressions

Makeway worked with Indiana University Bloomington to reinvent the in-room campus visit presentation for prospective students. The result was a dynamic, branded, and CMS-powered experience that supports presenters, improves accessibility, and delivers a high-impact first impression—all within a single-PC setup.

Core Components

Custom-designed visual storytelling and motion graphics

To align with IU’s “Bring on Tomorrow” campaign, Makeway created a suite of visuals, animations, and transitions that elevated IU’s message and brought campus life to the forefront. The result provided the IU Admissions Team with a professional, emotional, and memorable narrative that enhances IU’s reputation from the first visit.

Impact + Results

The pilot implementation showed overwhelmingly positive outcomes.

Impact and results

Delivering a professional-grade campus experience that scales
IU’s admissions team can now run a professional, brand-forward campus presentation that:

  • Is accessible to all visitors
  • Is consistent across presenters
  • Can be updated instantly
  • Requires minimal tech maintenance

The solution reduced AV complexity from 3 PCs to 1, while gaining remote support capabilities and extending hardware lifecycle. Content is now integrated, intuitive, and inspiring

Audience seated in a conference room faces screens displaying a presentation titled "Top 15" with ranked items. The Indiana University logo appears on screens and walls, resembling an in-store touchscreen experience for viewers.

The Makeway team understood the mission to create a visit presentation that went beyond simply informational, but also engaged students and their families in a unique and meaningful experience. It consistently receives high praise from campus visitors.
