Two AMA Pinnacle Award Wins, One Clear Purpose: Building Digital Tools That Make a Difference

We’re excited to share some big news:

Makeway brought home two Rochester AMA Pinnacle Awards for digital experiences that blend purpose, creativity, and measurable impact.

🏆 JULIE Kids Digital Tool

This project was recognized for creating a digital platform that helps teach kids about safe digging. This microsite, developed in partnership with our Illinois-based client, JULIE Inc, uses engaging characters and interactive storytelling to make safety education more accessible and memorable for young learners.

🏆 America’s Best Eyeglasses Interactive Touchscreen

This project was honored for building a touchscreen experience that helps simplify and personalize eye care in retail pilot locations. From product education to lens technology, this digital tool empowers customers and supports staff with a more seamless, intuitive experience.

These awards aren’t just about design, they’re about what purposeful digital experiences can achieve.

Because when design is done right, it doesn’t just win awards, it drives results for real people, in real spaces. For the JULIE Kids website, our work laid the foundation for a shift from static education to an immersive and scalable educational platform. The modular microsite became the centerpiece of their outreach strategy, enabling strategic partnerships with the American Hockey League, the Chicago Wolves’ Reading Program, and Brookfield Zoo’s koala exhibit.

Thanks to its flexibility and scalability, the platform helped:

  • Distribute over 100,000 branded workbooks
  • Share 50,000 zoo-themed coloring sheets
  • Create a cohesive cross-channel campaign experience
  • Enable ongoing updates and expansion

For America’s Best Eyeglasses, our interactive touchscreen transformed in-store engagement for customers and sales associates. Every single pilot store reported that the tool brought significant value, both for customers and employees. The touchscreen helped:

  • Increase premium lens sales
  • Improve product understanding and employee training
  • Build confidence and ease into the buying process

The experience is now rolling out to more than 60 stores across the U.S.
